Privacy Terms. Quick links. Diamond Brite. Any good and can it be reapplied Post by Donko » Sat Jan 25, pm Hi, Couple of questions about protection The car i recently bought has been protected using diamond Brite. Main dealer applied it I've noticed the rain doesn't pool as quickly as it did when I first got the car.

I've reapplied the conserver twice but it doesn't seem to work. How can adding a cap full of the conserver in a bucket of water top up the original application. I'm I doing something wrong Should I reapply the glazes again Should I remove it and apply something else.

Fig 1. Magnified paint cross section reveals pitted pores of the painted surface. Fig 2. Dirt gathers in pores. Nitrates attack outer edges. These ceramic pigments form accent colors in Diamond Brite that give the surface a diverse and multicolored appearance, efficiently covering up the minor imperfections that are seemingly obvious in traditional marble finishes. All of these features combine to give you an aesthetically pleasing yet durable pool finish. There are several expenses associated with having a pool, some of which are recurring costs, for example, refinishing and resurfacing.

Concrete pools themselves can get pretty expensive, therefore keeping them properly maintained should be your top priority. Other than the usual prices for the general maintenance of your pool throughout the year, repairs and utilities can add to the bills. The surface on your pool is responsible for sealing it and helps keep the water from seeping into the ground.

With proper care of the surface, ideally it can last you for up to two decades, but in most cases, you would need to repair it earlier than that. When it comes to choosing the type of pool surface, there are several options. The three basic types of pool surfaces and their average cost per square foot are as given below. So as you can see from the above, the aggregate quartz finish provides a good balance between affordability and quality. NOTE: Sometimes you can prolong the life of your diamond brite finish by patching your diamond brite pool.

Read our diamond brite repair guide to learn more. This is because, due to the vast variety of color ranges available, you have the freedom to create a finish that gives your pool in whichever unique color you fancy. Moreover, aggregate quartz style pool surfaces can last for around years. While White Plaster only lasts years. For this reason, it is usually not worth the cost savings upfront in the long run.

It also helps the pool to maintain its structural integrity. If your pool is about 10 years old or more, you could be in need of a Diamond Brite resurfacing project, either as a standalone project, or a total pool rebuilding or remodeling project. Resurfacing your pool can also help to repair problems like cracks and general wear and tear, as well as providing your pool with an updated and enhanced appearance.

Made from purified rock oils, Diamond Brite is formulated into a two-stage process so that each product compliments each other, and adds up to create a robust and durable glaze. Diamond Brite also helps eliminate any fading from UV light exposure along with nitrate etching caused by bird droppings.

Staining is another major reason which might make you consider resurfacing your pool. Pools begin to get discolored after numerous years of wear and tear. These stains can be caused by minerals, chemicals and other materials in the vicinity, or via water, these are things such as leaves, garbage, and just natural debris. Potentially, the stains could also be caused by colonies of algae, these are likely to be more the case if they appear to be a shade of green, or red, or some other natural color.

Another major reason why pool resurfacing is an essential part of maintenance is to make your pools slip-resistant. It will provide you with a greater sense of security if you know that your pool is comfortable and slip-resistant for your family or guests. See the full list of colors by SGM here :. Out of the three basic pool finishes available, white plaster is the cheapest option.

But it is now becoming obsolete and is, in fact, only suitable for those looking for a refinish on a strict budget — or those who have a large pool surface to cover.

While white plaster helps give your pool a classic blue shine to it , it can tend to stain easily, it has a rough feeling on the surface, and in fact, has the shortest lifespan of all the options at an expected lifetime of years. Diamond Brite finish, on the other hand, costs a little more than white plaster but is more durable and has a longer lifespan of about years.

As well, you also have the freedom to personalize your pool thanks to the variety of exquisite shades available for you to choose from.
