Alien how is a queen made

Ripley is impregnated with what is apparently a Queen by a facehugger before crashing on the prison planet. Then again, we also learn in Alien 3 that aliens develop differently in different host species the alien in Alien 3 gestated inside a dog, and apparently moves differently to the other, human-gestated aliens Ripley encountered. So perhaps similarly some aspect of the host can determine whether the alien develops as a drone or a Queen.

On the question of risk, a single Queen seems to be capable of producing quite a lot of eggs, and also seems to be a bit less mobile and threatening until pissed off, anyway than the drones. When a Queen dies or abondons a hive a Praetorian may fully develop into a new Queen and take its mothers place. Whereas, normal embryos adopt characteristics from their host, the Royal Facehugger's does not. The Royal Facehugger carries within it the Royal Jelly Line, which is a genetic code passed down from the Queen Xenomorph to its chosen offspring.

The embryo is more or less a genetic copy of its mother and as such will not adopt the characteristics of the host, but will retain the physical characteristics of the Xenomorph Queen. Regardless of host, the Praetorian will appear nearly exactly the same as its mother when it fully develops into a new Queen. Because of this, many fans speculate that the Queen is the only "pure blooded" Xenomorph as it will never appear differently.

In the Aliens v. So there may not be a specific "official" answer, but given the extreme adaptability the xenomorph displays, it seems likely that any alien can, given time, need, and the resources, morph itself to an egg-laying queen of some type although there is a suggestion that it could at least propagate itself by converting humans into eggs, as seen in the deleted scene in ALIEN.

Learn more. How does Alien pawn become a Queen? It, apparently, only contained a Royal embryo. In a deleted scene from Alien, the alien appeared to have been turning some of its prey into eggs, perhaps showing the early stages of such a transformation, or perhaps to create a Royal facehugger that would be able to create a queen.

In AVP: Requiem, the Predalien, born from a normal facehugger and capable of impregnating hosts preferably pregnant women directly, rather than laying eggs. It is possible that this was simply to establish a hive. More likely is the possibility that this form of "breeding" is a trait inherited from its Predator host, and may be unique to that species. The Queen, despite her size ratio compared to other Aliens, can sustain near-limitless gunfire before having to retreat.

Due to this, once outside of her larvae facility, the Queen can destroy most prey within seconds. It has also been noted that the Queen displays numerous signs of extreme muscle density, making hand-to-hand fighting a lesser-used tactic in AVP.

Her height will often vary greatly, at times being roughly 15 feet and sometimes can grow to as large as 40 feet. The Queen is the second most intelligent breed of Xenomorph and they have been shown to know how to operate machines and somewhat understand humans actions, not speech as the Aliens Queen "told" her warriors to back off when Ripley threatened her eggs.

It should be said though that all Aliens have shown intelligence in some respects, namely observation learning but it is known that the queen is superior. In the film Aliens and the comic Aliens vs Predator: Deadliest of the Species, the Queen has shown to communicate and "bargain" with humans, in Aliens, the Queen had her warriors back off after Ripley threatens her eggs with a flamethrower, though Ripley later kills the eggs anyway after one opens, either due to the belief that the Queen did it or didn't believe a facehugger would be restrained by the queen and would attack them.

In Deadliest of the Species, Caryn threatens a royal egg with a spear to get the Queen to release her friends, the Queen, however, begins squeezing them till they bleed, giving Caryn her own threat.

Another example of AVP Queen's redesign leaning towards the regular warrior's. Another difference is the placement of the primary shoulders. The bigger primary arms on the original design in ALIENS were not in the traditional humanoid placement, they are about one space back closer to the spine, as if a human would try to push their shoulder blades together or had someone on their back they were trying to shake off.

They were basically growing out of her back. Because of the off placement, the Queen would seem more comfortable holding her primary arms up and away from her body, and this looked very alien.

It also followed a logical biological designs since she had secondary set of arms, it's just natural that the primary arms will be further away. AVP changed that to the normal shoulder placement of a human, or any earth animal. The secondary arms were also redesigned.

The AVP Queen's little amrs have an extra finer. To create the creature that would obviously be from the same species, Cameron studied Giger's paintings. One of the most evident inspirations is the hand from the painting Alien Monster IV. The hands in AVP eliminated Giger's influence and simplified the design. The surface designs were gone, just like the gaps. The fingers and the hand and arms got thicker and didn't consist of bones but flesh instead.

Note the "high-heels" it has for feet and the little arms - the breast substitutes - they're literally grabbing breasts. The long neck , the slender and extremely thin legs - she is an underlying statement, just like the Alien's design.

AVP removed the "high-heel" protrusions on her legs. Here she's not wearing flatties, but they're not as pronounced. You know, she's fashionable, and big heels were only fashionable in the 80s! The ALIENS Queen was standing horizontal, but she held her arms outward, due to the shoulder placement and her legs were constantly bend, making it look very spidery. AVP Queen, more streamlined , had a completely different way of movement and different posture, typical for the animals of her size.

She would move the same arm forward as the forward leg, opposite most earth animals, and would raise her legs extremely high waving her hands like a maniac in different directions.

She had this splayed leg walk that fitted well with an idea of a creature that spends all it's time hanging from the ceiling and it looked like it had real weight. Her legs have atrophied from lack of use. The original Queen looked like she could barely stand, as something that's spent most its life sitting down should. The AVP Queen on the other hand had her feet in a straight line like a human being.
